Full name: Dr. Umar Garba Dokaji Bio: Sheikh Umar Dokaji was born in 1977 in the Nassarawo area of Gombe city, in Gombe State. He began his education at Nassarawo Primary School, then attended junior secondary school in Gandu before completing his secondary education at Government Science Secondary School in 1996. He obtained his first degree from the Islamic University of Madinah, where he studied Islamic Law (Sharia). He later continued his studies at the American Open University, and also studied at Al-Azhar University in Cairo. In addition, he took courses in English language studies at the University of Cambridge. Among the scholars he studied under were his father, Mallam Garba of Nassarawo in Gombe city, as well as Mallam Ahmadu Mai Tafsiri and Mallam Sabitu. He studied the Qur’an at Laddo School and also received education from his mother.
